FAQ

What is the best way to contact the USD Sports Camp office?
The best way to contact our office is by e-mail at sportscamps@sandiego.edu. You can call our office at (619) 260-2999 but please allow 24 hours for a call back.

What is your address?
Our address is 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110. You can find a campus map here.

Will I receive a camp confirmation?
Yes! When you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. One week before camp, you will receive more information on what to bring, where to check-in, directions, etc.

Can I cancel my camp registration?
There is a $75 non-refundable cancellation fee in addition to the processing fee for ALL cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the first day of camp. If cancellation for any reason is made within two weeks of camp, there is a $150 cancellation fee in addition to the processing fee.

What if cancellation is due to injury or illness?
The cancellation policy above remains the same.

What should my Residential Camper bring?
Resident campers must bring a sleeping bag or blanket and sheets, pillow, and towel.  They should also bring toiletries, sandals/flip-flops, water bottle, sunscreen, bathing suit, and pajamas.

Can my camper request his/her roommate?
Yes, on the online registration form there is an option to request a roommate.  Campers are housed two to a room.  We cannot put more than 2 campers in one room.  You can request your camper is housed adjacent to another pair of campers, if there are 3 friends that want to room together.  If no roommate preference is indicated, campers are assigned by age.

What if my camper needs to leave camp early?
We prefer that campers not leave campus during their camp experience. Should a camper have to leave campus for any reason, parents must check their camper out with the camp head coach. If someone other than the parent will be taking a camper off campus, parents must state that the designated individual is authorized by parents or legal guardian to take the camper off campus. Before leaving USD, parent or designated individual must sign camper out with the coach of his/her camp.

What is camp check-in and check-out procedure?
Parents are required to sign campers 8th grade and under in and out of camp DAILY and must present photo ID. If you are unable to pick up your child you will need to fill out a camper pick-up form designating another person that is allowed to pick up your child. Counselors will have this form (filled out by you) with individuals authorized to pick-up one's child. If a person is not listed the camp staff is unable to release the child. Authorized individuals must have a photo ID in order to sign out camps.

What if my camper is injured during camp?
In case of an emergency, the University will contact the parent immediately. If the parent/guardian cannot be reached, the University has authorization for emergency medical care granted on the Medical Form. If the medical staff determines that a camper is unable to participate in activities, parents must make arrangements to have their camper return home.

Does my camper need additional money during camp?
Campers should not need additional money during camp.  There is a small grocery store on campus if they would like to get snacks for their room.
